What’s Up With The Name?
I chose “Schmorgasboard” because, despite the odd spelling, it perfectly describes my purpose for this site: to provide a smorgasboard of reading material to the average Joe or Jane Schmo. (There are a few variations on the spelling of “Schmo”, the most common of which seems to be tied between “shmo” and “shmoe”. But I do not like to be common.) I want to make my writing enjoyable for anyone. You don’t need to put on your thinking caps here, although you’re welcome to if you like. This is a place to kick back, relax, and enjoy the ravings of my mind. And if that is what you are doing, then I shall die a very happy woman indeed.
Who is behind The Lit Schmo?
My name is Diane, and I love to write. I’m just an average Jane with a lot of ideas, a lot of opinions, and some spare time in which to write about them. I love sarcasm, wit, creativity, reading, writing, singing, video games, Twitter, Facebook, and, most of all, my kids.
When I’m not running around like a chicken with my head cut off, you can find and contact me using any of the methods listed in my contact info. You can also leave me a comment on any of my posts, and I’ll reply within 48 hours.
